# The Inbox Sorter
2,000 unread, and you still open every one. Your inbox isn't full — it's unsorted. This is
the free kit I use to teach my AI to sort the whole pile overnight and never send a thing: it
labels, archives, and stars only the handful that actually need a human, so you wake up to a
sorted inbox and three flags instead of a wall of noise.
Comment INBOX on the reel (or grab it below) and it lands in your DMs.
What it does
Every night, on a schedule, it reads your inbox and:
- Files newsletters, receipts, and dev notifications under their labels.
- Archives the promos and noise (reversible — nothing is ever deleted).
- Stars the three emails that actually need you, and leaves them in the inbox.
It never drafts and never sends. No email ever leaves your account because of this kit. The
worst case is an email you re-file yourself — there's no worst case where something gets sent or
lost. That conservative boundary is what makes it safe to run every night while you sleep.
The compounding part
The first sort is the roughest. Every time you re-file something it got wrong, you add that
sender to the map — and that correction becomes a permanent rule. By week two it triages like you
on your sharpest morning, and it keeps that knowledge forever. Wire it to the schedule once and
the pile never rebuilds.
What's in the free kit
1. The triage prompt — teaches it your rules in one paste (urgent → flag & keep, can wait →
label, junk → archive, real people → never touch).
2. The sender→label map — edit it once with your own senders; the skill reads it as the
source of truth and grows as you correct it.
3. The safety rules — the plain-English guardrails: labels and flags only, never sends, never
deletes, when in doubt leave it and flag it.
4. Install-in-10-minutes README — runs on any machine with Claude Code and a Gmail connector.
## Install in 10 minutes
1. Save the skill as ~/.claude/skills/inbox-sorter/SKILL.md.
2. Connect Gmail to Claude and grant label + archive access.
3. Edit the sender→label map with your own newsletters, receipts, and promos.
4. Run it once by hand ("sort my inbox"), correct anything it got wrong — those corrections
become rules.
5. Schedule it to run nightly. From then on, the pile never rebuilds.
Comment INBOX and I'll send you the whole kit.
