# The Hidden Commands Kit
Eight commands ship inside Claude Code. Most of them never come up until somebody shows you, which is the only reason a page like this is worth writing — there is nothing here to install and nothing to buy.
Every one below was checked against the official docs on 2026-08-30. Where a version gate applies it is written next to the command instead of buried at the bottom, and five more commands were considered and cut because they could not be verified as current. Those are named too.
Install in 0 minutes
There is no install. Run claude --version to see which build you are on, and that is the whole setup:
claude --version # which build am I on?
claude --teleport # resume a phone/web session here
claude --worktree feat-x # isolated git worktree for this session
Source: <https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code> · Docs: <https://docs.claude.com/en/docs/claude-code>
Two of the eight are version-gated (/rewind past a /clear needs v2.1.191+, --worktree needs v2.1+) and one, --channels, is a research preview. If your version is older, six of the eight still work today.
The one that saves you first
/rewind, or press Esc twice. It opens a list of the prompts you sent and lets you go back to any of them:
1. Restore code and conversation
2. Restore code only
3. Summarize from here
4. Never mind
Restore code only is the one to know. It puts your files back the way they were without throwing away what you and Claude worked out getting there — which is exactly the situation where most people reach for git checkout and lose the reasoning along with the bad edit.
What else is in the kit
The download covers all eight with the same treatment — the exact invocation, what it actually does, what appears on your screen so you can tell whether it worked, and its version gate:
/rewind(andEscEsc) — undo file changes without losing the conversationShift+Tab— cycle permission modes without typing a command/goal <condition>— Claude keeps taking turns until a judge says the condition is met/rewind→ Summarize from here — compress earlier turns and keep the sessionclaude --teleport— resume a phone or web session in your terminalclaude --worktree— give the session its own git worktree so parallel agents stop collidingclaude --channels plugin:<name>— pipe Telegram, Discord or iMessage into the running session/compact— condense the conversation instead of clearing it
Run them straight from your prompt:
/rewind # or press Esc twice
/goal all tests pass
/compact
## The honest part
The kit ends with the five commands that were cut: claude plugin eval and /skill-doctor are early-access and gated per organisation, --prompt-suggestions is SDK-only, and auto-mode defaults and bare claude doctor have no docs page to check against. If you meet any of them in someone else's list, verify the syntax yourself before trusting it.
Comment HIDDEN on the reel and the kit comes to you.
